Originally built in 1980, the whole yacht has been completely restored in 1999 and has under gone full refit in 2003 and 2018.

    She offers ample space for lounging below or above deck – all with a dedicated team of 3 on hand to co-ordinate your cruise and any special arrangements or activities that might be wanted.     Rate Details: 
    Charters in New Zealand: $30,000 USD + APA + 15% GST (VAT) - MYBA terms
    Charters in Fiji: $55,000 USD all inclusive
    The all inclusive rate in Fiji is so as to comply with Fijian charter regulations.

    America's Cup charters: $US 40,250 + 25% APA + 15% GST (VAT) - MYBA terms, 10 day minimum

    Incentive discount of 10% for 3 weeks or more. 


    One week: NZD 40,000 + GST + food and beverage. 
    Charters less than one week, more than one day:
    NZD 7,500 per 24 hour period + GST + food and beverage. 
    For just one, overnight period the rate is NZD 9,500 + GST + food and beverage. 
    Rate includes the yacht, crew of two, yacht stores, fuel for the main engines and tenders, use of all toys and tenders.

    The APA fee is to cover expenses such as food, beverages, fuel, transfers, marinas (if any). The captain keeps detailed accounts and receipts which are available to see online during your cruise - at the end of the trip the accounts are settled and any amount left is refunded back to you or if you have exceeded your APA accounts are settled at the end of your charter.

    Location details: Yonder Star is based in Auckland, New Zealand from December through to April and moves to Fiji from May through to October/November. Could relocate to Tonga. 

    The 36th America's Cup is to be hosted right here in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf surrounding the City of Auckland. There are a number of races in the lead up to the final series where just two teams battle for the America's Cup. The cruising in the immediate vicinity of the racing area is world class and includes the world renowned island of wine - Waiheke. There are plenty of cruising options near by so guests can watch the races from the centre of the action and enjoy an activity filled itinerary exploring areas like the Coromandel Peninsula, Cathedral Cove, internationally recognised night sky reserve - Great Barrier Island and beyond. 


    Races will be approximately 45 mins long, yachts sailing at speeds up to 50 knots and take place between 16:00 and 18:00 hrs on race days.

    Tim grew up as far away from the ocean as possible-on a high country farm in the central North Island. 15 years later and more than 10 years as Captain he has been skippering passenger ferries to luxury overnight cruise ships and has a deep seated passion for the industry. He is extremely experienced sailing in the hauraki gulf, bay of islands, Nelson/marlbrough sounds and fiorldland with over 240,000 miles on the helm under his belt. Tim’s goal is to provide guests with an exceptional experience from start to finish tailored to their every need.
