LAYSAN, built in 2017, is a performance sailing catamaran with luxurious accommodations and lots of toys and gear. You decide the pace and activities of your holiday; the crew makes it all happen beautifully.

Stepping aboard you will be immediately impressed by the beauty of the design, immense amount of living space and pervasive atmosphere of serenity. But there’s so much more than meets the eye. Once you're under sail the thrill begins. She was custom-designed by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design, one of the world’s leading yacht design studios, with input from the Owner, himself a superyacht captain. The result is a yacht ideally suited to active charter clients that want to ride the waves on the trampoline, be cooled by salt spray and laugh at the wind. LAYSAN is super fun under sail. From cutting-edge hull design to high-tech, efficient engineering systems, to sophisticated styling, LAYSAN is a class of her own.

The yacht is an excellent option for groups of friends and extended families keen to share the yachting adventure without ever feeling cramped. She can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 beautiful and cozy cabins all with private bathrooms.

She is a super yacht built for sport. She can reach speeds of over 13 knots, which will make you feel as if you are flying over water! Watch the surf rush underneath the trampolines. Soak in the sun on luxurious sun pads. Dive or snorkel right off the deck. Immerse yourself in paradise!

Captain Scott Nunnery Laysan - Serenity 72 Catamaran Worldwide Virgin Islands, Leeward and Windward islands by Fyly Exclusive Yachts.
Scott Nunnery
Captain

Scott Nunnery started his maritime career at 17. Going to sea as a student of oceanography he went on to achieve his masters in oceanography and spent 10 years studying climate change spending long periods at sea in some of the most remote corners of the world collecting data. In 2000 Scott decided to take his own adventure and went to sea aboard his own 53’ Roberts sloop and circumnavigated the globe. Spending long periods of time in the Pacific and Indian Oceans in some of the most remote archipelagos. During this time at sea Scott became a Master navigator and started running private and charter yachts all the way up to 180’. After surviving the tragic Tsunami of 2004 in Thailand, Scott moved on to the Mediterranean and ran large charter yachts between Spain and Turkey and everywhere in between. During his professional tenure as a yacht captain, Scott circumnavigated the globe for a second time racking up over 200,000 nm at sea. Over the numerous charter seasons, Scott has become familiar with just about every island in the eastern Caribbean and the special little places only a catamaran can get to. With over 12 years experience Scott can ensure your trip will be safe and adventurous and full of sea stories into the night.

Mate / Hostess Mia Capps Laysan - Serenity 72 Catamaran Worldwide Virgin Islands, Leeward and Windward islands by Fyly Exclusive Yachts.
Mia Capps
Mate / Hostess

Your Mate/Hostess aboard Laysan, Mia Capps, is a woman that is always on the move. With an affinity for both land and water activities, she is skilled in all sorts of sports. Hailing from Virginia Beach, the surrounding bays, rivers and Atlantic Ocean caused her to fall in love with the water at an early age. Pursuing land sports such as soccer (still holding a few University records), softball, and snowboarding during high school and college, Mia was later able to follow up with watersports, adventurously starting out in Australia. There she quickly developed kiteboarding, sailing and surfing skills to a level to enable teaching those sports upon her return to Virginia. She has sailed across the Atlantic, kited in over 30 countries, has paddled several hundred miles in 20 countries, and has competed in sailing and paddle boarding competitions where she raised thousands of dollars for a favourite charity. Besides Mia’s love of sailing and watersports having taken her around the world, she has been able to gain skills and knowledge that truly enhance the charter experience on board. As a certified trainer for paddle boarding, kayaking, and kiteboarding you could not be in better hands on the water. Mia is also a PADI open water diver as well as a 50 GRT licensed yacht Captain! Mia's skills now bring wing foiling to Laysan as well. This is something that is brand new to the market; only 1 or 2 boats are presently offering this. Once the watersports and island activities are done, you will still not be disappointed. Mia likes to put on a show and keep her guests dancing, laughing, and trying new things. Interactive charters are a preference for this fun, athletic, and adventurous lady, but years in the service and charter business make her adaptable to any charter style. She loves people, kids, and making them happy, and her vibrant personality and enthusiasm for life are contagious. When not in the water she can be found making a clean and safe environment on board or busily preparing one of her Happy Hour specialty drinks. Let her lead some relaxing yoga to calm the spirit in the morning or at the end of the day should you like. Mia loves discovering new cultures and meeting new people. “Everyone has a story and I love listening and learning.” Her motto is “Smile often and make every day an adventure!” Mia will ensure that is exactly what happens!

This was an absolutely unforgettable trip!

"The Captain was kind, warm hearted, an expert in his field, safety first, a great sense of humor. The food was absolutely amazing! Nicole exceeded all expectations of cooking for all of us! Remi is kind and on top of things. He’s also smart and what a great swimmer! The crew became our friends and we had a magnificent time! This was an absolutely unforgettable trip! Not only was the boat amazing, the food out of this world, the team amazing, and the views breathtaking; we learned so much about the BCI, different cultures and the team we were with."

We feel so Lucky!

"We feel so lucky that God put you in our path. It was by chance that we found you to sail with and we could not imagine sailing with anyone else. Thank you for making our trip planning effortless, for sharing with us the special places we visited, and for giving us something to look forward to in the future. There is no way to explain to others, how special sailing with you is so I hope we will plan another voyage with you soon and share this experience with our friends. We love you both and sailing with you feels like coming home. God bless you both as we part ways and may you both have a joyful 2020. The “A” Family"

The Best First Yacht Experience!

'What a lovely week you have given our family. I can’t imagine having our first yacht experience with anyone but you two. The entire week has felt like we have been guests in your home. Captain you have a teacher’s heart and have taught us so much about the ocean, yachting and even how to use our watches for a compass. You have smiled through all our questions and answered with such patience. Chef; you have the gift of hospitality and feeding people WELL! Your quiet, sweet spirit made us feel so welcomed and as if we were family. And the food, there are now words to adequately describe how happy our taste buds and bellies have been all week with your fun menu planning. This has been a week full of beauty of the islands, wonderful conversations with our family and with you. Thank you for being such great sports with our music video making! It has certainly been a memory making week and we can’t wait to tell everyone we know or meet about our wonderful captain and his beautiful “crew/chef” wife!God really did match us with the perfect team. And if you ever make it to Alabama, please let us know because we would love to welcome you into our home! And we hope to make it back on your boat."
